Telemark is not funded sport in the UK so you will need to be willing to work hard to raise funds for the team - having the nous to drum up your own sponsorship in addition to team sponsorship is a must. We have been successful over the years in raising funds to ease the pain of competing on the World Cup and will continue to beat the drum. You must want to be part of that as much as you want to be part of a fantastic team of like-minded focussed individuals.
The time to get involved in the rapidly growing sport of Telemark IS RIGHT NOW - As Telemark’s visibility is increasing across the world it is a realistic probability that Telemark will make Olympic status by 2014. Be part of the team now and be part of something great, exhilarating and rewarding representing your country on the world stage.
If you would like to receive newsletters and get information on training dates, events and selection please contact the team captain; leave a comment or email me.
In the meantime ski safe and enjoy.

Mark, I remember you and yes we are running the champs again in Jan. We are also running a World Cup and British Champs. We could do with voluntary help with the hill-side staff (gate judges and the like) for the World CUp part 11/12 Jan. Do you think that people at your club would be iinterested in helping out? Email me at [email protected]

Hi Andy, I wanna be on your team!! I’ve just been browsing thru the site and I’m all excited about getting back on tele’s. Can I come too? I could always put Harris in a back pack and adjust my style, he’d love the speed. Hopefully we’ll get to see you at the NEC. Regards to the team, Jude ( a wannabe)

Jude…that is fantastic. I’ll see if there is a category for new mothers, you may be able to start a niche sport; skiing with the bairn! Come and see us at the show - give me a call and we’ll sort something out. ATB A

Hi Viki
Great to hear from you and sorry that it has taken a while to come back to you - we have been on the World Cup and very little access to the internet and busy racing! You have come to the right place and I can get you started quite easily. Do you have your own kit? Where do you live?. I have also asked these questions in an email to you which you should answer there rather than on this open site.
We are looking to run some team building sessions in the coming months and it would be a good way for you to meet the team and see if it is something that you’d like to be involved with.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Andrew:
I moved to the UK last year and spent last winter telemark skiing in north Wales (Snowdonia). I was an alpine ski racer as a kid and University student in the US and I am an avid telemark skier with some tele race experience from years of living in Montana. I am mostly looking for a telemark community to join here in the UK and am interested in running gates once again. Let me know if there is any way for me to get involved.

Hi Lenka
I live in Plymouth, Chris Wotton lives in Kingsbridge. If you would like to get involved in a up and coming freeheel scene with some races in a really cool and informal setting check out the following link - http://tiny.cc/pj02v and the website for more details http://tiny.cc/ztn5q - it is the biggest growing telemark get together from the UK.

Hi, I am a student at Edinburgh university and I took up telemarking after my parents both converted. I had been doing the odd day here and there since the age of 14/15 but finally decided I would get the kit and take it up for good for my ski season (2008-2009). I don’t come from a race background but I competed in the Boss des bosses on teles in Chamonix and really enjoyed it. Could you get in touch if their is any chance of me getting involved.
Thanks, Anna

Hi Andrew, I’m a strength and conditioning coach with a facility in Exeter (Precision Fitness & Performance). I have experience training athletes from International rugby players to Bob Skeleton. A client told me about you guys and I was wondering if you were looking for a strength coach? I also lecture fairly extensively to athletes and teams about optimal nutrition as well as Biosignature hormonal analyses. I know its a bit of a random email, but nothing ventured etc! Thanks, James

Hi Skipper I am sorry for not replying to you earlier, I appear to have missed your reply. I live in Meribel year round and have a small chalet company here. If you are heading this way at all this season I would love to meet up. I will also send you a email if I can find your address.

Hi gang
I’m an Australian nature and adventure film producer visiting the UK and Europe as of next week (17 Jan 2025 onwards).
I produced ‘Winter Dreaming’, an all-Australian backcountry ski film, awarded winner of its category at the Livigno Film festival in Italy in 2009. For a preview, please see http://vimeo.com/34830874
Anyhoo, on the off-chance, would any of the Team be based in or around Bourg Saint Maurice from 24–29 January 2012 for a possible screening?
Otherwise I will be in London on and off for a week either side of that if that suits too.
Cheers,
Steve
