Following the success of the indoor races last summer, the British Indoor Telemark Series is returning for 2016! Taking place in Glasgow, Manchester and Hemel Hempstead the races are open to telemark skiers of all ages and abilities. Unfortunately there will be no race at Tamworth this year but they will hold a festival and race training as usual.
Indoor Telemark Series 2016:
- Manchester: 28/29th May
- Tamworth: 18 June (One day event)
- Glasgow: 9/10th July
- Hemel: 20/21st August
Telemark Festivals: There will be a telemark festival on the Saturday before the races (except Hemel, which will run race on saturday and festival on sunday). At the festivals there will be opportunities to have coaching from top BASI instructors, and ski with the British Team.The Telemark Tracks website has a nice summary of all the 2015 events. Last year they also produced video footage from the races which were published on their website and Facebook page scheck out their website to give you an idea of what to expect from the series.

Race Training: There will be a two hour race training session on each of the festival days. If you attend the festival your ski pass will cover you to take part in the race training at no extra cost. If you would like to take part in the race training only you can buy a two hour ski pass on the day. We ask that you can telemark linked turns if you wish to take part in this. The race training will usually run in the afternoon from 2-4pm.
Race Information: The races take place in the form of a telemark sprint with a jump and skate section (snow and venue permitting). Competitors times from two runs will be combined and the events are run under British Telemark Rules. For more detailed information of the races see our Race Notes. There will be prizes for individual and team winners for each race and overall series. Prizes for the overall summer series will be awarded at the final event in Hemel.
Race Entry: Please fill out the online entry form and organise payment through that. This is a new entry system organised through ERSA.
Cost: Races will cost £40 each to enter.
