Last weekend the final round of the British Indoor Series took place at The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.
The race was well attended by telemark enthusiasts from all over the UK and even attracted a number of FIS Telemark World Cup athletes, including French racer Rémi Fradet. Ski Sunday’s, Graham Bell even foreran!
Series Coordinator, Jack Harvard Taylor commented, “The Hemel race was a real success on a number of levels. It was great to see plenty of younger, alpine racers coming along to give telemark a go!”
“With almost 30 racers at the start and many more taking advantage of free coaching delivered by BASI Telemark Trainer, Joe Beer – this is a huge milestone for telemark racing in the UK”.
Following the racing, Mr Mike Penning MP for Hemel Hempstead kindly awarded the prizes to the winners of each category.
The 2013 indoor series is now over for this year but if you are keen to get into telemark racing - make sure you make it out to Rauris, Austria in January for the 2014 British Telemark Championships!
