2013/14 FIS Telemark World Cup Calendar Released

The International Ski Federation (FIS) recently announced the seven venues which will host the 2013/14 Telemark World Cup.

For the first time, racing will commence in November rather than in the New Year. Starting in the Austrian resort of Hintertux, the World Cup will then move over the border and into France where Montgenèvre will hold the second set of races followed by Les Contamines Montjoie.

After a short break during the Christmas period the racing will pick up in Rauris, Austria for the British hosted Telemark World Cup which follows on the back of the British Championships which is due to take place between the 4-16th January.

In February (7-23rd) the XXII Olympic Winter Games will be held Sochi, Russia. This gives the telemark racers a chance to go home and re-energise prior to heading out to Norway for the penultimate World Cup in Geilo and the final in Rjukan – the home of telemark skiing!
