Representing Great Britain was: Anna Morrissey, Jasmin Taylor, Fred Thomas, Jack Harvard Taylor and James French.

Following a training day on Friday, racing got underway on Saturday morning with the first of two Sprint races. In the men, James and Jack struggled in the first run and failed to make ‘the flip’ (top 30 go in reverse order for the second run) and finished 30th and 31st respectively.

In the ladies, both Anna and Jasmin skied consistently in both runs finishing in 7th and 14th position.

The following day only Jasmin qualified for the Parallel Sprint (top 8 ladies and 16 men). Team Captain, Jack Harvard Taylor said “the strong field in Les Contamines made it incredibly difficult to qualify for the Parallel. Usually the organisers try to include the top 32 men but due to time constraints and poor snow cover they took the decision to run with only the top 16”.

Jasmin put down two excellent runs against Mathilde Ilebrekke from Norway but was unfortunately beaten to the line. Mathilde went on to take silver medal in the final, racing against World Champion and overall World Cup leader Amelie Reymond.

Jasmin commented, “It was a tough set of races for me, I’m not satisfied with my skiing but taking a positive, I have learnt a lot and gained more, much need, experience on the World Cup”.

Jack fought hard in both run, finishing in 25th after a tough race with its fair share of thrills and spills!
